I’ve written a book titled Metaphysical Truths: Heaven Is At Hand and I have to say that those who come across the book may think it’s somewhat controversial — or even very controversial. And I understand this sentiment. The message of the book is that heaven literally is at hand; not that heaven is a destination we might someday reach, after we’ve lived out our lives and if we behaved well, but that heaven is here and now. Heaven is our present reality. If a statement like that doesn’t generate controversy then I’m not sure what will. Let me add a qualifier however: I’m not saying that people are presently experiencing heaven because we surely are not. In fact the life experience for most people is closer to hell than heaven. My claim is that heaven is the reality, heaven is what’s actually there, and the fact that we are not experiencing it represents the problem of humanity. Why do I claim that heaven is the reality? For one reason.
God.
If God is real, if God is the only power, and if God is only good then heaven has to be the reality of existence. What other environment would an all powerful and only good presence create besides heaven? Of course we can question the reality of God and question whether God, if God exists, actually is the only power, and these questions are entirely legitimate given how challenging life can seem to be; but the perspective of spiritual life help is that God is the only power and only good and based upon this we logically say, yes, heaven is at hand.
I fully appreciate that it’s a very big statement to claim that heaven is at hand. Does Heaven Is At Hand back this statement up with a compelling case? And, just as importantly, does it demonstrate how to experience the heaven that is supposedly there? Naturally I believe so but readers will, of course, make up their own minds.
